There are some good independent shops in Naperville and Aurora, and if there is a dumb policy, they wont be able to use the corporate told us to do it excuse. This is squarely a management issue.Try other places. 1 Fave for Range USA Naperville from neighbors in Naperville, IL. At least currently.BTW, the sales guy did vaguely apologize for their stupidity. Mostly THEM!They have pretty decent prices there in general but their management stinks. Their absolutely stupid corporate policy costs everybody. I had two potential trade-ins and waited while they tied up a sales guy in a busy store, and myself - for 15-20 minutes -, and their ammo (how many rounds does the sales guy need to fire to see if a basically new pistol works?), to come back with a ridiculous low-ball offer (using consultation from the nasty little fella that was a manager) on both that no sane person would accept. According to the nasty little fella that was supposedly a manager, corporate has dictated that all potential trade-ins must be test-fired FIRST, and only then would they look up the potential trade-in value. Point-blank range is any distance over which a certain firearm can hit a target without the need to compensate for bullet drop, and can be adjusted over a wide range of distances by sighting in the firearm. Thats great and allows you to decide what to do.And based on what you were buying, there could even be a little negotiation about trade-in value, pending acceptance. (they would have to test fire it before the final deal was made). Shoot Point Blank is a really solid gun shop and range, and a great place to take training. If you wanted to trade in a firearm, no problem - they would give you a tentative number based on the gun having no problems. There is no job growth and if you try to point out things that could work better, you are not taken seriously. I have purchased a few high end guns from this store in the past. The company culture is micromanaging at its worst.
